Self-Reliant Diver / Solo Diver Course

Self-reliant diving or solo diving is not for everyone, but does have its place in recreational diving. If you have the mental discipline and commitment to learn and follow self-reliant diving techniques, you will bolster your skills and confidence when diving alone, in a dive pair or as part of a team.
In addition to classroom sessions, you will plan and conduct 2 open water dives over 1 day of training (SDI), or 3 open water dives over 2 days of training (PADI). You will master several new skills, including switching to a bailout cylinder, swimming without a mask, and deploying a DSMB.
Prerequisites:
- At least 18 years old (21 years old for SDI)
- At least Advanced Open Water Diver
- At least 100 logged dives
